During normal business hours, and for no obvious reason, stock handlers at a large archive and document warehouse saw smoke coming from the back. They attempted to investigate the location and source of the smoke, but were overwhelmed by the intense smoke rapidly engulfing the store. Once evacuated, they managed to detect a fire in the warehouse corner.
Because of the significant fuel load in the warehouse, firefighters had a hard time controlling the fire, though they managed to arrive at the scene early in the fire. Following several days of battling the blaze, the fire was out, but not before levelling the structure to the ground.
CEERISK experts were instructed to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. They were dispatched to the site and they commenced their investigation recording conditions on the ground and gathering information through interviews and other sources. Using their local representatives, CEERISK experts were able to communicate with eyewitnesses and gather details about the circumstances surround the fire. Further investigation is planned and will be carried out in coming days.
