For many years, CEERISK has been an active member of IMIA, and it is an honour to be a part of this network of engineering insurance experts from around the world.
The association has members from several countries in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa. Since 1998, IMIA has become a worldwide knowledge hub for Engineering Insurance, studying new trends and complex issues facing engineering insurers around the world and publishing working papers on various topics of interest.
Over the years, our engineers have participated in working groups on energy related working groups contributing to papers on CSP, Waste to Energy, Biomass and several others. Mamoon Alyah, CEERISK's Managing Director has chaired a number of working groups producing papers on Combined Cycle Power Plants, Electrical Failures and contributing to a number of others.
We are delighted to be participating in their 55th annual conference, which will take place in The Royal Marine Dun Laoghaire, Dublin from the 18th to the 21st of September. Mamoon Alyah was asked to host a panel about the short-term impact of climate change on engineering issues. Participants provided insightful thoughts and ideas.
Mr Alyah has been asked to host a working group on floating renewable energy (solar and wind), which will be presented in 2023.
