Overcoming technical and people challenges facing C&O investigations
Investigating the cause and origin of a fire at a large construction site can be a challenging task no matter the circumstances. From difficulty gaining access to the area of origin and managing scene hazards to interviewing foreign workers with limited language skills, loss adjusters, fire investigators and scientists must develop and possess the skills necessary to manage an array of different challenges. Even claim handlers at (re)insurers risk loss of critical evidence and opportunity to answer important questions, including those related to warranty breach, policy exclusions and potential for subrogation and recovery.
This workshop uses real life case studies to highlight some of the challenges facing (re)insurers, loss adjusters and fire investigators tasked with determining the cause and origin of fire in large construction sites.
